What inspires you to write romantic fiction?
I am a romantic person by nature. I have always been inspired by the beauty of nature, the stars, the moon, forests, hills, streams, and overall the romance or the promise of life. Due to certain difficulties in my life emotionally, while growing up, I have always been programmed to look at the positive side of things, a happy ending or the fairy tale as they call it. It keeps me going in my difficult times as well as appreciate the good times. It makes me feel hopeful and optimistic about life as a whole. The romance for life is what I try to bring my readers so that they feel the same sense of joy and eagerness with the way they live life just as I feel while telling my story. I want to bring the same touch of hope and romance in their lives so that it keeps this jest for life alive in them no matter what.

However, the sub-genre of both my books is paranormal and fantasy. Child of Paradise (Listen to your Dreams) is a paranormal romance blended with mystery while Redemption is a fantasy romance novelette. My current book which I am writing, Butterflies in the storm, is an out and out contemporary romance.

Tell us about how you write.
I am very disciplined where my writing process is concerned. If I don’t set a fixed routine, I tend to procrastinate the writing part. The most tempting part is the research that diverts me to topics that can just eat away my time like no man’s business. Especially with Youtube and other social media platforms, everything else can be just too enticing than the writing bit. I also like to write for long hours at a stretch than shorter timeframes, and that usually happens when children go to school or spring breaks when there is lesser demand on school work or school-related activities.

Do you listen to or talk to to your characters?
Yes, I do. Once I tune myself into the writing process, I start seeing the images of the characters as well as feeling for them. They become like real people in my mind with their own character traits, quirks, and personalities. I can hear the dialogues they might be saying and see the facial expressions or gestures they make in my mind's eye. They guide me in the way they want their feelings to be expressed or their story to be told. Frankly, I sometimes can get choked up by their feelings. My stories are always absolutely driven by my characters.

What advice would you give other romance writers?
It's fun. So have that fresh mug of coffee at your desk and write away.

How did you decide how to publish your books?
My books are published by Flugel Publishing House which was previously owned by my husband and his partner. Now it is completely owned by him where I am one of the directors and hence I am fortunate to have creative control on my books.

What do you think about the future of book publishing?
It is challenging but which industry isn't. But with social media that has come in a big way, it will be a huge prop in moving the industry forward.

Which romance sub-genere(s) fit your stories best?
paranormal, mystery, suspense, fantasy

My books are available in the following formats:
eBook, Print
