What inspires you to write romance books?
I always wanted to write a book, but what really pushed me to do it was my children, especially my son. I couldn’t hold him after he was born and while waiting so long to be with him, I wanted to give him, and my family, something to be proud of, a gift that would last a lifetime and more.
Though the romance is not my main theme, it’s sprinkled in very generously.
Tell us about how you write:
I write in my native language, Spanish, and my wife translates my writing. I just let it flow.
What advice would you give other writers?
Follow the journey of your own heart, your own milestones of development and mirror those in your writing. You can only write what you know to be true.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I worked with my editor, Julie Saeger Nierenberg, to publish through her company, CreateWrite Enterprises, so that we could get the book “out there” to an audience of interest without waiting for it to be noticed by a conventional publisher.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
It’s a changing landscape every day. We are all here to drive the bus as well as be along for the ride.
