Author Adrienne Williams Shares Their Story

I have always had a love for the written word. Particularly when those words are associated with love, romance, and sex. I started reading romance novels probably at around age 13/14. I attended college and went into a field that was the choosing of my family and was not at all my passion. Shortly after that, I got married and settled into life. After a few life events, I decided I need to do what I really love. I’ve always had a way with words, a very active imagination, and a highly creative mind. Writing is the perfect fit for me.

When I’m not writing, I spend time enjoying life with my husband, family, and friends.

What inspires you to write romance books?
My inspiration for romantic fiction comes from a combination of my own experiences as well as just my own active imagination.

Tell us about how you write:
As far as how I write goes, I am an outliner initially. I have to have some idea as to how I want my characters to appear, their situation, the people in their lives, etc. After I have a basic outline of what I want, the rest of it flows very easily for me.

Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I “listen” to what their situation is, how they got to the point they are currently in life. I have to listen to the characters in order to understand how they are feeling at any given moment.

What advice would you give other writers?
It’s really difficult for me to give advice to other romance writers. There are so many great ones out there who really know what they are doing. When it comes to people who write romance, my advice is to keep writing, please.

How did you decide how to publish your books?
My husband, one of my sisters, and my best friend really encouraged me to do it. I love them immensely.

What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think the future of book publishing, especially for indie authors is fantastic! Of course the traditional publishing route is always going to be there, but the future is definitely indie.

What genres do you write:: Romance.

What formats are your books in: eBook
