Cowboy Sanctuary by Michelle Hughes

Dana Waterfield’s well-organized life gets tipped upside down when the brutal murder of her twin sister Danielle threatens to unravel everything she’s worked so hard to achieve. Having found herself the sole guardian of her sister’s newborn lovechild, Jeremy, and at the receiving end of her ex-brother-in-law’s unchecked rage, Dana flees to the safety of Dixon Ranch and the strong, muscled arms of Brock Dixon. In order to protect the baby from the wrath of Danielle’s husband and murderer, Dana must assimilate into the daily routine of ranch life, and rethink who she really is. When the wrath of a madman threatens the life of her nephew and everything she holds dear, will Dana put her trust in Brock or let the winds of change tear her family apart?

Falling for her sister’s lover was never part of the plan, but there’s something about a cowboy that no woman can resist. After all, the safest place to be is in a cowboy’s arms…

Michelle was also a country singer/songwriter who appeared on the Midnight Jamboree in Nashville and toured for twelve years with a satellite talent showcase.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I was in the mood for a sexy cowboy so I decided to write about one. This is the first contemporary western romance I've written. Most of my work is New Adult, or erotica.

Author Michelle Hughes Shares Their Story

About the Author
I’m a wife and mother to five incredible kids and a former singer/songwriter. I began ‘borrowing’ Harlequin romances from my grandmother at eight years old and fell in love with the happily ever after stories. My career in writing started with paranormal and the Tears of Crimson vampire series, but then something changed. My muse was flooded with all these great ideas for contemporary romance and I just couldn’t stop!

When I’m not being mom I write. I’ve always loved entertaining and doing it from the comfort of my home while still helping support a family has been the biggest blessing. 2014 started off great with Five Nights hitting the top 100 paid on Amazon and having Whore climbing the bestseller charts as well. I’m probably the most down to earth person you’ll ever meet and love talking with my readers, as well as other authors. If you’d like to find out more about me, all the information is on my blog. www.tearsofcrimson.com

Thanks for all the support and most of all for proving that dreams can come true as long as you continue to work toward them.

What inspires you to write romance books?
I think it’s my way of growing old gracefully. I know that sounds like a line, but when you’re raising kids, and trying to be a great wife, it’s easy to forget that you’re still a sexy woman hiding underneath the apron. Writing let’s me pretend I’m a young adult again and relive all those fun times that seem to dwindle down when you take on the responsibility for a family. I’ve found the perfect fountain of youth! Now if only I could bottle that stuff up I’d be unstoppable!

Tell us about how you write:
I’m one of those writers who don’t outline, or plan anything. When my muse hits, it knocks me off my feet and doesn’t shut up until I get it out. With my kids now in school I have eight hour days that I can give in to the fantasies of my mind. There’s a lot of writing getting done these days, let me tell you!

Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
My characters don’t shut up when they have something to say. I like to say the only reason I’m still considered sane, is because I can tell people I’m an author! These guys will fill my dreams, stop me in the middle of dinner, and refuse to let me get anything else done until I tell their stories.

What advice would you give other writers?
Keep writing! I was told that in the beginning and shrugged it off like the person was nuts. The truth is it’s the only way to go. The market changes so fast these days that you just have to hope you get in on a trend. I’ve watched unknown authors hit a bestseller list and others never get over the 100,000 rank. No matter how good your story is, if people aren’t in the mood for it, they won’t be buying. So write, and write some more!

How did you decide how to publish your books?
Back in 2008 I was laid off at my job in Respiratory. I had tons of time and nothing to do so I decided to start working on a book that had filled my dreams for over 20 years. It was paranormal romance and believe me it was rough! I’ve redone that book several times since then and thanks to some of my other contemporary romance taking off, it’s helped to push my original baby.

What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think we’ll continue to see self-published authors hitting the bestseller lists and more traditional authors walking away from the big publishing houses. It’s almost impossible for the traditional authors to compete with the prices we offer on our books. We don’t have the overhead that the big six do, so we can offer value and still make a decent profit.

What genres do you write?
Contemporary Romance, Paranormal Romance, New Adult Romance

What formats are your books in?
Both eBook and Print

Whore by Michelle Hughes

Whore-Michelle-HughesEmbrace Your Inner Whore!

Taylor Ross shows up in the coffee shop I work in on the worst possible day of my life. Sharing the bad news that his father, one of my favorite customers, has passed away it adds to an already screwed up week. Everything I’ve worked for has blown up in my face and to top it all off I’m pretty sure I’ll be homeless at the end of the month.

Be wary of sexy strangers offering gifts! His father has written me into his will and until that moment I didn’t know he was a multi-billionaire who owned one of the largest companies in Chicago. Taylor offers me a job, a new place to live, and a chance for the future I’ve been working toward only to be thwarted time and time again.

Why would a man as beautiful as him worry about a young woman with nothing who was still trying to pay for college? It seems like he could be the answer to all my dreams! I’m swept into his world of money and power and for the first time in my life I am filled with hope. There’s only one problem. He has a secret that could destroy more than just my future. How far was I willing to go to have everything my heart desired?

Some friends were having a discussion online and the topic came up ” Can a Virgin be a whore?” It started this huge debate and my muse was fueled!
