Targeted Audience: 25 – 55

Author Bio:
After years spent in searchingfor the right carrier, and blindly jumping from management to waiting tables, I’ve ended up in the Car Valeting and Cleaning Business. I know, a bummer, right? And if that wasn’t enough, I spent the last 5 years 3000 kilometers away from my home country Bulgaria. I and my partner settled in the UK in the beginning of the 2009 with the idea to save some money and return home, but . . . Life happened. And here I am, still cleaning cars and dreaming for a better future. I guess there is at least one thing that had been born from the lack of social life, the homesickness, and the too many hours spent in front of the computer that I care to admit. I’ve began writing. Even as a child my imagination had been running wild. I preferred to create worlds instead to live in the real one. During my teenage years I found poetry, and poured my heart out on the pages covered in tears. But I had to grow up and I kind of pushed my writing dream in the deepest and dustiest corner of my mind.
But the pull was too strong, and during 2012 I wrote my first novella “Fighting the Impossible”. It took me over six months to self-publish it on Amazon’s KDP platform but finally my dream took shape.

Following an astrological hunch, she attends a Tom Jones Festival and meets an available young impersonator with more looks and personality than talent. Though he’s knocked out of the contest, he’s still in the running to become Ellie’s blue-eyed soul mate—until he’s accused of killing off the competition. It’s not unusual that the handsome police detective working the case is spending more time pursuing Ellie than collaring suspects. What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
My closest childhood friend married an Elvis impersonator. Though their marriage didn’t last the idea of trying to make a life with someone whom other women threw themselves at must have stayed with me and found expression in this book.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I was sitting beside a pool near my home in Alabama and was writing in a notebook and these characters became suddenly very clear to me. I fell in love with them and decided to follow them around their lives together and recording it. Then I left the book alone for a few years, tried to publish it but it’s small and quiet and it seemed most publishers I talked to wanted explosions and vampires. Finally I’ve gotten out.

The Dr Pepper Prophecies by Jennifer Gilby Roberts

Dr-Pepper-CoverMel is a twenty-five-year-old underachiever with a terrible job, too much time on her hands and a perfect younger sister. Her work and love lives hit a new low when she ends up working for her ex.

The one good thing in her life has always been her best friend Will, who has seen her through every crisis from lost toys to pregnancy scares. Now a successful accountant, he looks a prime catch to his girlfriend Natalie, who’s determined to replace Mel as the woman in his life.

Despairing of improving her own life, she sets out to help her friends instead.

After all, what’s the worst that can happen?

A contemporary romantic comedy based loosely on Jane Austen’s ‘Emma’ and similar in style to works by Sophie Kinsella.

Targeted Audience: Women, 18-30

Author Bio:
Jennifer Gilby Roberts loves writing contemporary romantic comedy (chick lit) and was inspired to write ‘The Dr Pepper Prophecies’ after laughing herself silly at ‘Can You Keep a Secret?’ by Sophie Kinsella. She has written two novels, four novellas and a variety of short stories.

She has a degree in physics and a postgraduate certificate in computing, so writing fiction was inevitable really. She was born and grew up in Surrey/Greater London, but now lives in Richmond, North Yorkshire with her husband, small daughter, two middle-aged cats and a lot of dust bunnies.

Her job right now is taking care of her younger daughter, but previously she worked many thrilling jobs in administration, including one in an insurance claims office (wholly unrelated to the one in ‘The Dr Pepper Prophecies’…).
