Tsunami Crimes (Disaster Crimes Book 3) by Chrys Fey

Beth and Donovan have come a long way from Hurricane Sabrina and the San Francisco earthquake. Now they are approaching their wedding day and anxiously waiting to promise each other a lifetime of love. The journey down the aisle isn’t smooth, though, as they receive threats from the followers of the notorious criminal, Jackson Storm. They think they’ll be safe in Hawaii, but distance can’t stop these killers. Not even a tsunami can.
This monstrous wave is the most devastating disaster Beth has ever faced. It leaves her beaten, frightened. Is she a widow on her honeymoon? As she struggles to hold herself together and find Donovan, she’s kidnapped by Jackson’s men.

Fearing her dead, Donovan searches the rubble and shelters with no luck. The thought of her being swept out to sea is almost too much for him to bear, but the reality is much worse. She’s being used as bait to get him to fall into a deadly trap.

If they live through this disaster, they may never be the same again.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
It all started with a dream. I was dreaming that I was spinning on a swivel chair to rock music when hands stopped me and lips touched mine. I opened my eyes to see a hot officer in full uniform who said, “I shouldn’t have done that.” When I woke up, I pondered a story where a woman falls in love with a cop even though she knows she shouldn’t. Not only did that dream spark the idea for 30 Seconds, but it actually became a scene in 30 Seconds.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I got the idea for Hurricane Crimes on Christmas morning 2011, after I finished reading a book that took place during a blizzard, but since I’ve never been in a blizzard I thought: What about a story that takes place during a hurricane? I started writing before Santa was even back at the North Pole.

What inspires you to write romance books?
Dreams. I wake up in the middle of the night all the time and think: That’ll make a great story!

Tell us about how you write:
Plot usually comes first thanks to a brilliant idea that lights up my mind like a sparkler, but there have been wonderful moments when a character has pushed through my thoughts and told me they had my next great story idea.

The moment I get such an idea, I write on a piece of paper how I want it to begin and on the back I write how I want it to end. Then I write every event that needs to take place and even snippets of conversations.

Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
A little bit of both. Sometimes my characters will tell me he/she wants to do something or doesn’t want something to happen. And when they put their foot down, I do what they say!

What advice would you give other writers?
Pretend you’re the one being romanced in your story. How would you want to be treated? What would you want to happen? What are your desires? In real life, your fantasy may not come true but it can in your book!

How did you decide how to publish your books?
I was seeking representation for my unpublished supernatural-thriller series when I realized I might have to break into publishing another way, so I took my story, Hurricane Crimes, and submitted it to a small press. Some time later, I got my first publishing contract. Although I always wanted to publish my series first, I took a chance. Don’t be afraid to take a chance!

What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think the future of book publishing is only going to get better, with more opportunities for authors.

What genres do you write?
Romantic-Suspense, Romance, Supernatural-thriller

What formats are your books in?
eBook
