Masking a problem doesn’t fix it. No matter how long you keep it covered.
We all hide behind masks. Whether that be a forced smile to a loved one after a long day. A sympathetic frown of concern to someone that doesn’t really matter to you. Or a professional face at work after an almighty row at home. The fact is, we all do it. We do it because we want to be prettier on the outside than we truly are on the inside. We do it to hide the cracks that have formed due to life. But what about the people who are forced to wear masks? The people who are forced to hide their true colours because society says so?
Life has thrown its fair share of crap at Lois Johnston, and the one thing that has kept her sane and going for the last seven years is her husband, Nathan. But what happens when the one person that is keeping you safe from yourself leaves, taking not only your heart, but your sanity with them as well?
For the first time in a long time Lois is about to remove the mask that was forced upon her years ago. But what’s matured underneath after years of heartache and hiding is something even uglier than before. Life has twisted her into a monster, and she’s about to set it free.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I’m not 100% sure on what inspired this book. I have known a number of people who have suffered from mental health issues and I guess, after recent life events, the time was right to tackle such issues. That and my need to venture into a different sub-genre of erotica.

Rage had taken over again. I grabbed the hammer from under the stairs, took to the front room, and let it fly. Ornaments smashed, books and dvds flew, and my anger only built. I went for the TV next. I hit it right in the centre and watched the screen crack into a spider web. It still wasn’t enough to satisfy my fury. One by one I hit the hammer through the pictures on the wall: photographs of days out, family, our honeymoon. Then I came to the picture that had pride of place. Our wedding. I stared at it, at the happy expressions on our faces. My blood boiled. Nathan may one day be in another of these pictures with that slut. I took a deep breath then noticed my reflection in the glass. I was bleeding. I wiped my cheek and examined the blood on my fingers and instantly calmed down.
I looked around the room at the devastation I had caused. Years of building a home had been destroyed in seconds. I dropped to the floor, my heart aching like it never had before. I had lost everything in the space of one night. I’d lost my husband, my pride, my hopes, my dreams, my future. My mind.
